Oh there’s no place like Harvesters for the Holidays! The holidays are such a special time, regardless of how you choose to celebrate. This holds true for the 1 in 8 people or 1 in 6 children facing food insecurity in our service area. During a season filled with giving, please don’t forget to include them on your holiday list. There is no shortage of ways to give back whether it’s gifts of food, time, or money, your gift will truly impact the lives of our neighbors.

Celebrate your family, friends and co-workers by sending a heartfelt gift that also helps local families – Harvesters’ Recipes for Hope! These special holiday cards feature festive greetings and a delicious recipe from from a local chef. We can even sign and address them for you if you order by December 9! Help us nourish hungry families, children and seniors! Every donation makes a great impact. You can donate in the barrels at your local HyVee, Price Chopper or Dillons, store, or you can bring items to either Harvesters location. Here is a list of the most requested items.

Help feed a local family or senior this holiday season by adding $1, $5, $10 or $20 to your grocery bill at the register. Every dollar donated helps provide 2 meals! You can also donate nonperishable food items in the Harvesters barrels on your way out of the store or online at www.harvesters.org/checkouthunger.

Crate & Barrel | Holiday Campaign

Crate & Barrel invites customers to donate at the register and online. All brands at Crate & Barrel Holdings, Inc. will be participating including, Crate & Barrel, Crate & Kids, CB2, and Hudson Grace. Additionally, they will also be selling specially marked products to raise funds for Feeding America. Learn more.

The Kansas City Royals, The Know Joey? Foundation, Let’s Win KC and other community partners will be collecting frozen turkeys and nonperishable food items on Tuesday, November 26 and then distributing the food collected to neighbors experiencing food insecurity on Wednesday, November 27. Ward Parkway Thanksgiving Day Run

Kick-off Thanksgiving Day feeling good and doing good! Walk or run in the annual Ward Parkway Thanksgiving Day Run. Each participant gets a long-sleeve tee and free mini pie. The Canadian Pacifiic Holiday Train is back for its 26th year supporting food banks across our network by raising money, food and awareness for food insecurity issues. Come see the holiday train, enjoy a concert and participate in family friendly activities. Everyone is encouraged to bring a monetary or nonperishable food donation. Learn more.
