Build Awareness

Spread the Word

The first step to fighting hunger is awareness. Spreading the word about the prevalence of hunger in our community is one thing we can all do to bring attention to this serious problem. By gaining more attention, more people will take action and bring fresh ideas to  these challenges. Here are a few ways you can help.

  1. Learn more about Hunger in our Region, and then check out our additional Educational Resources. Share these facts with others.

  2. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Share our posts on hunger facts and Harvesters’ news with your friends and followers.

  3. Encourage others to donate food or money, volunteer, and advocate.

Right now, Harvesters is facing a critical shortfall, and we need your help more than ever.  The cost of food has skyrocketed — up 24% over the past 5 years. Key federal programs have been eliminated or cut by 30%, resulting in as much as 3.4 million fewer pounds of food we will have to distribute. Locally, food insecurity is at 12.3%, up from 9.5% in 2021, — the highest level in nearly a decade. The hunger gap is widening, and your support can help us continue to provide for our community.
