Off-Site Volunteer Opportunities
Support Harvesters vision of a healthy, thriving community where no one is hungry by volunteering remotely. These opportunities can be done at home with a couple of volunteers or large groups. For more information contact our Community Engagement Team in Topeka/Lawrence area at fighthunger@harvesters.org or (785) 856-6089 or Kansas City area at getinvolved@harvesters.org or (816) 929-3090.
Become a Barrel Buddy
Harvesters is looking for dedicated volunteers to adopt a grocery store (or two) and assist with picking up food donations from our Harvesters-branded barrels and bring them to Harvesters.
Give Lunch
Help Harvesters by preparing and donating nonperishable, ready-to-eat, meals to have available for families, children and seniors, as well as for disaster relief response efforts. This is a great activity for groups!
Pack Holiday Boxes
Many of our fondest holiday memories are made around a festive meal. For thousands of families in our area, a holiday meal and tableside memories are not certain. Help us provide the comforts and trimmings of a holiday meal by packing a Harvesters Holiday Box!
Pack Healthy Family Meal Kits
Looking for a new way for your family or group to get involved with Harvesters? Help us put together Healthy Family Meal Kits! Each box will have all the necessary ingredients for an easy, complete, nutritious meal for a family in need.
Cards for Seniors
Help make the day brighter for seniors in your community by creating one (or more!) cards! These cards will be included in our Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) boxes.
Birthday in a Box
Help us ensure that local kids and adults can enjoy a birthday cake on their special day! Each box will go to a household our agency network serves to ensure a birthday doesn’t pass without the means to celebrate.
Bag it Forward
Transform old or unworn t-shirts into reusable tote bags. These tote bags will be distributed to neighbors visiting Harvesters’ partner agencies, to provide them with sustainable way to carry their food items home each time they visit.
*Please note Harvesters’ off-site volunteer opportunities do not qualify for Court-Ordered Community Service Hours.
