Student Service Squad
Welcome to the Harvesters Student Service Squad Program, designed to foster a culture of volunteerism and community support among students in grades K-6 while helping Harvesters achieve its mission.
This program provides volunteer projects tailored for elementary school students. By participating in these activities, students will not only learn about the importance of food security but also actively contribute to creating equitable access to nutritious food in their community.
Project-Based Learning Opportunities
The following projects will engage students in grades K-6 in meaningful activities that support Harvesters’ mission to provide equitable access to nutritious food and address food insecurity in our communities. Through these initiatives, students will develop essential skills, foster a sense of social responsibility, and make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.
Host A Food Drive
- Host a Food Drive to collect donations for Harvesters. Here is a list of our most needed items and a food drive toolkit to help get you started.
- You also have the option of hosting a virtual food drive! For every $1 donated, we are able to provide 2 meals!
Pack A Food Kit
- Pack Healthy Family Meal Kits so we can nourish families throughout our community.
- Pack Holiday Boxes to provide cheer and the comfort of a holiday meal during the winter season.
- Pack Birthday in a Box kits so that our neighbors can have a chance celebrate their special day.
Bag It Forward
- Bag it forward by transforming old or unworn t-shirts into easy to make reusable tote bags. These tote bags will be distributed to neighbors visiting Harvesters’ agency partners, providing them with a sustainable way to carry their food items home.
